Did Real Madrid have an offer rejected for Franck Ribery just a few days ago? According to Catalan daily Sport the La Liga giants did try to tempt Bayern Munich into parting with the Frenchman, only to be rebuffed.
Sport reports that Real contacted Bayern with a huge €80M offer to sign-up Ribery in this current transfer window in a deal which would have sent further shockwaves throughout the European market. Bayern however, refused to play ball and rejected the offer. Current German thinking is such that if Cristiano Ronaldo was valued at €96M, then they believe their star asset should also command a similar sum. The story, if true, paints a disturbing picture of just where the transfer market is for the top clubs in Europe, and suggests this summer’s madness will not be a one off.
