Barcelona’s sporting director Txiki Begiristain has admitted the club could be interested in a move for Cesc Fabregas depending on how much the Camp Nou side wish to spend, according to a report in Sport. Begiristain said that it was hard to improve the current squad, but three players thought to have been considered to do just that are Cesc Fabregas, Javier Mascherano and Dmytro Chygrynsiky.
On Fabregas Begiristain commented, "It [Fabregas] depends on how much you want to spend. If we spend a lot of money then it could be. We do not know the amount of investment [required]. We have asked Arsenal. If we understand that the amount is excessive then we will not try".
Arsenal are likely to resist any move and a deal still seems unlikely this summer.
