According to Marca Atletico Madrid look set to disappoint Chelsea by playing Sergio Aguero in their Champions League qualifier against Panathinaikos. Chelsea are thought to have let the La Liga side know they would pay up to €57M to take the young striker to London, although sources at Atletico deny this. What is clear however is that should Aguero play against the Greeks he will become cup-tied for the Champions League making any move to Chelsea extremely unlikely.
Atletico sources have also indicated that had such an offer been made from Chelsea three weeks ago then the Spanish club would have had time to think it over. Now all eyes will be on the match against Panathinaikos for the surest indication as to whether there is still any possibility of Aguero leaving Atletico this summer.
