Notts County Consider Dowie in Manager Hunt
Sunday, 25th October 2009
Notts County’s search for a new boss goes on and the moneybags English League Two side are continuing to be linked with a whole host of potential candiates. Argentina boss Ossie Ardiles is believed to remain very interested in the post and would present County with star power. However, perhaps a more realistic option, suggested by the Sunday Mirror is former Charlton boss Iain Dowie.
Dowie saw any chance of a return to Newcastle United, where he acted as assistant manager, evaporate with close friend Alan Shearer being overlooked for the manager’s job. Notts County are believed to have drawn up a shortlist with ex-Inter man Roberto Mancini, Peter Taylor and David Platt all being considered.
