John Barnes Linked with Rwanda Coaching Post
Monday, 26th October 2009
Former Liverpool great John Barnes is reportedly interested in becoming the next national coach of African nation Rwanda. Members of the Rwandan FA have confirmed that Barnes has been in touch about the job which would mean swift return to international management.
Barnes was recently sacked as manager of English League One side Tranmere Rovers following a disasterous start to the season, but despite falling short of expectations at the two club jobs he has held so far (Celtic being the other) Barnes is not ready to call time on his coaching career.
Rwanda will be aware that Barnes enjoyed modest success as coach of the Jamaican national team before taking the Tranmere job and his name would undoubtedly give the African nation star power.
