Tottenham Boss Redknapp Confirms Sandro Admiration
Tuesday, 27th October 2009
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed his interest in one of the most highly-rated Brazilian youngsters at the moment, Sandro. Redknapp is quoted by BBC Sport as saying, "We’ve been looking at Sandro. He can play – he’s a modern day midfield player."
Sandro, just 20-years-old, could have taken part in the recent Under-20 World Cup for Brazil, however, with his club side Internacional chasing the Brazilian league title in what is their centenary year, it was decided to keep the midfielder out of the squad.
Should Redknapp move for Sandro then he will not come cheap, with a fee of £14M being required to snatch the youngster from Internacional. Sandro also made his senior team international debut earlier this year and is expected to be knocking on the door of the Brazil squad which will travel to South Africa next summer.
