Bordeaux President in the Dark on Arsenal Target Chamakh
Tuesday, 17th November 2009
Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud has admitted to being in the dark over the intentions of Marouane Chamakh. The striker was the subject of serious interest from a number of clubs in the summer, notably Arsenal, and Triaud turned down offers which did not meet his valuation of the player. With Chamakh’s contract due to expire at the end of the season however, the Bordeaux president does not know his next move.
The president told Le Quotidien du Foot, "I admit I do not know what to say [on Chamakh]."
Bordeaux have made the forward an offer of a new contract but have yet to see Chamakh ink the deal. Triaud remains in the dark, "Now everything depends on him, the request must be made to him."
Being available following the end of his contract Chamakh would be a very attractive proposition, not just once again to Arsenal, but Juventus are also reported to be watching developments closely.
