Ruud Van Nistelrooy Seeking Real Madrid Exit
Wednesday, 18th November 2009
Real Madrid’s Ruud van Nistelrooy could be on his way out of the Spanish capital as he seeks to bolster his World Cup hopes by playing regular football elsewhere. Currently behind the likes of Karim Benzema, Gonazalo Higuain, Raul, Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo, at the Bernabeu, chances of first-team action will surely be limited.
"I want to play," said van Nistelrooy to The Guardian. "If I do not get minutes, that will give me a reason to leave in January. My intention is to play at the World Cup with Holland. I need to be able to prove that I can still play at the level I did a few months ago [before the injury]."
This news will definitely put clubs on high alert as the 33-year-old, although possibly past the prime of his career, is still the man that banged home an amazing 95 goals in 150 appearances for Manchester United. Tottenham is one of the Dutchman’s speculated destinations, with the London club reporting an interest in signing the natural goal-scorer.
