Bayern Munich’s Louis van Gaal Suspends Luca Toni
Wednesday, 25th November 2009
Under-pressure Bayern Munich manager Louis van Gaal, has suspended striker Luca Toni, following the Italian’s public rant regarding the fallout between the two. This is an issue that couldn’t come at a worse time for van Gaal, who needs to win against Maccabi Haifa tonight to salvage slim hopes of making it to the Champions League knockout stages.
Toni told television channel RAI 3 yesterday, “For four months I have had problems with him. Our relationship is as good as over. I would like to return to Italy so I can score goals and play for the national team.”
With the rift between manager and player reaching boiling point, a swift January exit for Toni seems all but certain. The question now is, where will the 32-year-old striker end up in January?
