I don't have a problem with a team with a sub 500 season winning a Cup competition... what I have problems with is that they then get called League Champions.

Yes, I know that all of North America's leagues do this play the league, then crown the champions via a playoff structure, including the Mexicans... I born, raised (minus 3 1/2 years spent in Argentina,) and live in the USA, after all. In my opinion, the only sport that this system really works for is Baseball.

Change MLS to crown a champion by scrapping the playoffs, and the groups during the regular season, everyone play each other twice, and I might just pay a bit more attention to the league.

The MLS Cup could then be played at the same time as the season, just like the do in real futbol leagues through out the world. Then you could have all of MLS teams compete for it, increasing revenues, and an additional game, as they could add a match much like EPL's Charity Shield, where the League Champions face the Cup Champions.
