Tottenham’s Jermain Defoe Reveals Ambitions
Wednesday, 25th November 2009
Earning rave reviews from manager Harry Redknapp for his five-goal second-half explosion against a shell-shocked Wigan, Tottenham’s Jermain Defoe has revealed his ambitions for the rest of the season to the Premier League’s official website.
"I’d like the Golden Boot as it would be my first," he said, adding "I’d like (Tottenham) to finish fourth to be honest, it would be fantastic for the club.”
Leading the pack so far with 11 Premier League goals in 11 appearances, with the likes of Fernando Torres, Didier Drogba and Darren Bent behind him, the 27-year-old is on the right track to achieving his personal goal. Defoe’s sparkling form this season has helped Tottenham really challenge for the final Champions League spot, currently sitting fourth in the league, level on points with third place Arsenal. If things continue as they have for the speedy striker, this could be a historic season for both Defoe and Tottenham.
