Arsenal Dealt Crushing van Persie Blow as Dutchman Needs Operation
Saturday, 28th November 2009
Arsenal have been dealt a further shocking blow for their hopes of a speedy recovery for Robin van Persie. The Dutchman, who injured his ankle playing for Holland, was originally thought to be out for between four to six weeks. Now though, it has emerged that the forward will need an operation, and that will put his recovery time back significantly.
The Gunners are now preparing themselves for the prospect of losing van Persie for between four and five months. The news is a crushing blow to Arsene Wenger, who may well have to enter the transfer market in January if he hopes to maintain a title challenge.
For van Persie, the date penciled in for his return is the 3rd of April clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
