Spurs Striker Defoe Eyed by Barcelona
Sunday, 29th November 2009
Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe, who has been prolific in front of goal so far this season, is attracting interest from Spanish giants Barcelona, reports the Sunday Express.
Defoe, who was brought back to Spurs from a spell at Portsmouth, has been in red-hot form of late. Indeed, the 27-year-old is currently the leading scorer in the Premier League.
Barcelona are on the lookout for attacking reinforcements in the winter transfer window and were widely thought to have Manchester City striker Robinho in their sights. Talk surrounding that transfer though appears to have died down.
Whilst Spurs would fight hard to keep Defoe, the striker could jump at the chance to join one of the biggest clubs in Europe and enjoy regular Champions League football.
