Yaya Toure Pondering Barcelona Exit
Tuesday, 1st December 2009
Yaya Toure has created further doubts about his Barcelona career, after signalling discontent at his current bit-part role in the squad. The Ivory Coast native, who is Manchester City defender Kolo Toure’s brother, has often found himself, much to his frustration, behind Seydou Keita in the pecking order.
The 26-year-old, who believes he is at his prime, voiced out his displeasure, saying to France Football, “I think at my age, I am a player who is fully fit and at his peak, but right now I do not have opportunities to play. My situation is outrageous. I have to make a personal decision on this.”
Such news will definitely alert the big clubs, with Manchester United and local rivals Manchester City reportedly interested in snapping up the defensive midfielder who was influential in Barcelona’s treble-winning squad last season.
