Liverpool Outcast Voronin Weighing Up Russian Move

Print for later?

Thursday, 7th January 2010

Andriy Voronin has failed to become a regular with Liverpool since his transfer from Bayer Leverkusen in 2007 and is now considering a move to Russia, according to his agent Andriy Golovach. The Ukranian spent the 2008/09 season on loan to Hertha Berlin, but has still failed to make an impact upon his return.

"He has received a concrete offer from a Russian top-flight outfit as he is having the final say," Golovach told Ukrainian newspaper Gaseta. "In terms of his Liverpool deal it is about a cancellation right now, not about a new loan transfer."

Hertha Berlin are believed to have tabled the 30-year-old another loan deal, an offer the player has quickly rejected. "Hertha Berlin is almost in Bundesliga 2, Andriy does not want to get part of a relegation dogfight," said Golovach.
