Chelsea’s Drogba Hails “Efficient” Performance
Monday, 8th February 2010
Chelsea returned to the top of the Premier League table thanks to a brace from in form striker Didier Drogba in the first-half. The Ivory Coast native admitted Arsenal put in an impressive performance at Stamford Bridge, but pointed out that his side’s ability to finish off chances was the vital key difference.
“They did well,” Drogba said in the club’s official website. “In the second half they made us run, but at the end we were really compact and if you stay strong and compact then you always have the chance to counter-attack and score goals. We took our chances, you don’t need to create a lot of chances to win a game, sometimes you create a lot and you don’t score. We were efficient in everything we did.”
Drogba has been in remarkable form this season, with 22 goals in 26 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions. Although The Blues continued to when the 31-year-old striker was away on African Cup of Nations duty, his presence has added a devastating edge to the Premier League leaders’ attack.
