Kyrgiakos: Rafa Benitez Right Man for Liverpool Job
Tuesday, 9th February 2010
Sotirios Kyrgiakos has been in scintillating form for Liverpool as of late, being voted the club’s Player of the Month after three impressive performances in the heart of The Reds’ defence. The Greek international, who has expressed his overwhelming admiration for manager Rafael Benitez, will be out for the next three games however, a result of a ban for a harsh tackle on Everton’s Marouane Fellaini.
“Rafa Benitez is the best manager I have played for,” Kyrgiakos said to the club’s official website. “He has won the Champions League for this club and I enjoy working for him. I have learned a lot from playing for Rafa and we want to play well in every game for him and this club.”
Kyrgiakos has made eight appearances for Liverpool since his move from AEK Athens in the summer, but has quickly turned into a fan favourite with his impressive recent displays.
