Manchester United’s van der Sar: Premier League All to Play For
Tuesday, 9th February 2010
Manchester have fought their way through a defensive injury nightmare to claw themselves back to within just two points of Premier League leaders Chelsea. The Red Devils have been in dazzling form in their last few matches, and have shown signs of regaining the quality that has seen them capture three English league titles in succession.
United are no strangers to the intense pressure involved in winning trophies, and keeper Edwin van der Sar is excited at the nature of the season so far, saying to the club’s official website, “We’re right up there with Chelsea. The last three months of the season are shaping up to be very interesting. It’s all to play for. There are a lot of big games in a short period, with the Champions League also starting up again soon.”
Van der Sar’s return from a lengthy absence has boosted the confidence in a unsettled United back four. The Old Trafford outfit have impressively won six of their last seven league matches.
