Mancini backs Boyata to Have Bright Manchester City Future
Tuesday, 9th February 2010
Although still very young at 19 years old, Dedryck Boyata has impressed in the absence of some key defenders for Manchester City. The Belgian sensation has looked much more assured than a regular teenager, and has caused pundits to heap praise on his composed display despite defeat against Hull in his recent Premier League debut.
“If he keeps improving over the next couple of years, Boyata is going to be a fantastic player,” manager Roberto Mancini said to the club’s official website. “He is going to make mistakes, he’s still young and that’s normal. But then the whole team did not play well in the first half at Hull, but they improved in the second half. We have to learn to start games better.”
Boyata has made just three appearances since joining the club from Belgian side Brussels in the summer.
