Arsenal’s Wenger Shuns Real Madrid Link

Print for later?

Friday, 12th March 2010

Following Real Madrid’s dramatic exit from the Champions League against French side Lyon, the Spanish press have been tipping manager Manuel Pellegrini to be replaced. One of those linked to replace the former Villarreal boss is Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger, who has claimed he has no interest in the job.

Leave me alone,” Wenger joked with the British press. “I always go to the end of my contract and I am going until 2011. So there is no way. For me, it is the worst moment to come back on this,” the Frenchman continued. “At the moment I focus on Hull City. That maybe less glamorous than Real Madrid but they are much more important in my life at the moment.”

Arsenal are only two points off leaders Manchester United, who face a tricky match against Fulham on Sunday. Should The Gunners win the day before against Hull, Wenger’s side will be top of the league, and piling the pressure on the defending three-time champions.
