Liverpool’s Aquilani: I Won’t Sleep Tonight!

Print for later?

Tuesday, 16th March 2010

Liverpool snapped a two-game losing streak yesterday, beating rock-bottom club Portsmouth 4-1 at Anfield. Summer signing Alberto Aquilani completed his first 90 minutes of Premier League action in the match, and was understandably ecstatic after bagging a well-taken goal in front of the Kop end.

I feel really good because I’ve scored my first goal after a really long time. I’m also really happy because of the result – we needed that,” Aquilani said on the club’s official website. "The goal is even more special because I scored it in front of the Kop. I said when I arrived in Liverpool that I wanted to score in front of the Kop and that moment has arrived. I think I will find it hard to sleep tonight, especially as I’ve also played 90 minutes.

Aquilani has found appearances very hard to come by since his summer move from AS Roma, but could find his way to more playing time after impressing on Monday.
