Liverpool striker Fernando Torres is going nowhere according to new reports, and boss Rafael Benitez is due to receive a transfer fund boost.

Spain star Torres, who is reportedly a target for Chelsea, Manchester City and Barcelona, is seen as crucial to the Merseyside giants’ future and will not be offloaded despite the club’s debts, reports Marca. Torres is seen as crucial to The Reds’ future and the moneymen at Anfield are keen to build the club’s brand around the young star.

The Madrid based paper also believes that Liverpool will give boss Rafael Benitez €33M (£30M) to spend in the summer in order to reinforce the side and provide Torres with the title chasing and Champions League football he craves. Torres, extremely loyal, is not believed to be entertaining a move away from Anfield.

Benitez is expected to offload a further series of flops in the summer however, as Ryan Babel, Albert Riera and possibly even Alberto Aquilani, follow Andriy Voronin and Andrea Dossena out of Melwood.

On Torres the Liverpool manager stated simply: "He is our player. The fans adore him and want him to stay."
