Uruguay Star Diego Forlan Leaves Door Open for England Return

Friday, 9th July 2010

Diego Forlan has left the door open for a possible move back to England after the World Cup. The Uruguay star endured a disappointing time at Manchester United when he first made the move to Europe and, after struggling to score often enough, was sold to Atletico Madrid. Now though, his heroics in South Africa have made English clubs think again.

Forlan is currently under contract with Atletico until 2013 and comments made before the tournament got under way suggested he was happy in Spain. But the door is seemingly not closed on a transfer.

"I have never closed the door [on a move back to England]", Forlan told SNTV. "I am very happy in Madrid. But if a good offer came, we look [if Atletico Madrid want to accept the offer] and then sit and talk."
