Paraguayan striker Nelson Valdez looks set to be on his way out of Borussia Dortmund, with Sunderland and Hercules expected to lead the chase for his signature. The 26-year-old was left out of coach Jurgen Klopp’s side for the German Cup meeting with Burghausen, and has not taken it well.

"I hope to find a new club" blasted Valdez. "I am no longer officially part of the team as coach Klopp did not select me in the group to face Burghausen. Sure, it hurts, but what can I do?" he told Bild.

Valdez has played most of his senior football in Germany, having turned out for Werder Bremen before making the move to Dortmund. He was most impressive at the 2006 World Cup on German soil and would presumably welcome the chance to continue his career elsewhere at a side where first team football is guaranteed.
