The future of Hatem Ben Arfa should be resolved soon according to reports from Marseille. Bundesliga side Werder Bremen remain favourites to capture the winger, but Newcastle United are still in the hunt after a new proposal was sent to Marseille by the English club and accepted by the French.

Liverpool are also tracking Ben Arfa, but have entered the fray too late and Anfield looks the least likely destination of the three.

Ben Arfa has been quite clear that he wants to leave the Stade Velodrome and his relationship with Marseille has completely broken down. However, although the winger had been pushing for a move to Newcastle, keen to play in the Premier League, Werder Bremen have now moved to the front of the queue after they secured Champions League football in midweek.

What is clear is that the former Lyon youngster will be on his way out of the Stade Velodrome before the transfer window shuts.
