Danish defender Daniel Agger is keen to win some silverware with Liverpool, noting that the club have gone too long without lifting a trophy.

"I came to this club to win trophies", Agger explained to the Liverpool’s official website, "and we haven’t won anything for the last four years. For me and the team it’s important, and it’s also important to the squad because we have a lot of players and they all want to play."

Agger also believes that the arrival of Roy Hodgson over the summer has added a different dimension training and given the players extra energy.

"It’s a new team with new players, young players, new staff. You can see on people’s faces they’re a lot more happy. The training sessions are different. When you get a new training session, new staff, new methods, it gives [you] more energy somehow."
