Bulgarian striker Valeri Bojinov has emerged as a possible transfer target for new Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew. Bojinov is currently turning out in Serie A for Parma, but has experience of the English Premier League, having played for Manchester City, making 11 appearances over two seasons.

Newcastle are thought to believe that a bid of around €7M would be enough to persuade Parma to part with Bojinov and the player himself is said to think he has unfinished business in the English top flight, having been unable to show his best at Eastlands.

The 24-year-old initially joined Parma on loan from City for the 2009/10 season and notched an impressive eight goals in his 25 games for the club. This season goals have been harder to come by, as Bojinov has found the back of the net just twice. With 34 caps for Bulgaria to his name, Bojinov has also emerged as a key player in his country’s national team.
