AC Milan and Lazio are keen on a summer swoop for Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner and have been given encouragement by the Dane.

Bendtner has refused to rule out leaving the Emirates at the end of the season, feeling he should be more of an automatic selection under Arsene Wenger, and Milan and Lazio could test the Frenchman’s desire to hold on to his young striker.

"I am happy to remain [at Arsenal]", Bendtner was quoted as saying by Italian source Tutto Champions, adding: "but it is not certain that I remain, even after the summer."

Milan are on the lookout for backup to Zlatan Ibrahimovic for next season and feel Bendtner could fit the bill. Lazio meanwhile understand that if they cap their super season so far with qualification for the Champions League, then they will need to rapidly strengthen, and fancy the Dane to spearhead a new look attack in the Italian capital.
