Blackburn Rovers have set their sights on tempting Udinese goalkeeper Samir Handanovic to Ewood Park in the summer. The Udinese shot-stopper has been in impressive form again this season, helping his side to battle it out in the upper reaches of Serie A and proving worthy of his reputation as one of the best in Italian football.

The Slovenian international was a target for Arsenal last summer, but the Udine-based club did all they could to retain his services – and succeeded.

However, a big-money bid from Blackburn may well turn Handanovic’s head and after seven years in Italian football, the 26-year-old could fancy a new challenge in England.

Handanovic would not be a cheap option for the Ewood Park outfit however, with Udinese set to demand at least €15M for his services. And should the Serie A side qualify for the Champions League this season, which remains a possibility, they will fight tooth and nail to keep hold of the former Domzale keeper.
