Flying Norwegian full back John Arne Riise is expected to end his Roma adventure at the end of the season, although his destination is still not clear.

Sources close to the player though have been conflicting in Riise’s wishes, with various reports suggesting the 30-year-old is keen to see if a return to former club Liverpool is an option.

Riise enjoyed a fine spell at the Premier League side between 2001 and 2008, winning the Champions League in 2005, and would surely welcome the possibility to return. The Anfield side have not boasted the same strength in the left back position since he was sold to Roma.

Another option for the Norway man, and more realistic if Liverpool are not prepared to consent to his return, is a move across the pond to the MLS. Riise is reportedly willing to look at offers from North America, aware that the league is growing and has attracted some star names over the past few years.
