Villarreal are considering their options in case striker Giuseppe Rossi departs this summer. While the Yellow Submarine are making every effort to see off interest from Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus for Rossi, there is an acceptance that the forward may still well push through a move.

And if that happens Villarreal are lining up a swoop for Lorient striker Kevin Gameiro.

The France international is one of the most in-demand forwards in European football and Villarreal would be forced to pay a heavy price to take him to La Liga. However, the 23-year-old would be a worthwhile investment, as a talent clearly on the way up and who has scored for fun with Lorient this season.

Gameiro has been linked with a whole host of sides over the past six months, including AC Milan, Juventus, Marseille, Valencia and Newcastle United.
