Real Madrid could be set to mount a second raid on newly-crowned Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund. The Spanish side have already bought Turkey international midfielder Nuri Sahin from the German club, and now are believed to be interested in striker Lucas Barrios.

Los Blancos coach Jose Mourinho is on the lookout for another striker this summer, following the club’s decision not to make their loan of Manchester City forward Emmanuel Adebayor into a permanent deal. And this has led to a number of new options being considered, one of which is Paraguayan Barrios.

And it is thought Barrios’ case is being put forward to Mourinho by none other than Sahin himself. The new Real Madrid star knows all about the Paraguayan after his 14 goals this season helped to fire Dortmund to the title.

The Ruhr giants will do all they can to resist an offer from Real Madrid however, well aware that losing another of their top performers would be a blow too far. Dortmund are keen to defend their Bundesliga title as well as put up a respectable showing in next season’s Champions League – two tasks that would be made all the more difficult if Barrios was to depart.
