Carlos Vela’s agent has denied talk that his client could be heading away from Arsenal this summer, insisting that the club have confirmed the Mexican will remain.

Both Galatasaray and Real Zaragoza have been linked with Vela, after suggestions that the forward would find first team football difficult to come by at Arsenal next season – he spent the second half of last season on loan at West Bromwich Albion.

But the 22-year-old’s agent insists he has received assurances that his client will not be sold.

"The recent rumours in the media are false, Vela will not leave Arsenal", Eduardo Hernandez told ESPN.

"I had eight meetings with club officials and they told me clearly that Vela is staying."

Despite Arsenal’s words of comfort, it still looks unlikely that the forward will receive a regular run of games under Arsene Wenger at the Emirates and it would be little surprise to see Vela loaned out once again.
