Paris Saint-Germain are preparing to go on a summer spending spree which could be worth over €100M.

Backed by the sovereign wealth fund of Qatar, the French side are ready to completely revitalise their current squad in order to challenge for next season’s Ligue 1 title.

In defence, PSG have trained their fire on Benfica’s experienced Brazilian centre back Luisao. But it is in midfield and up front where the French could really make a statement of intent.

PSG are hopeful of snapping up Moroccan international Adel Taarabt from Queens Park Rangers, while Sao Paulo’s highly rated young midfielder Lucas remains a target, despite a quoted asking price of €30M.

Another option is Santos’ attacking midfielder Ganso, although he too would cost €30M, while Roma winger Jeremy Menez can be had for around €8M.

The capital club have still not given up hope of taking Eden Hazard from Ligue 1 champions Lille – the Belgian would set PSG back €40M. While Japanese star Keisuke Honda has also been targeted and a €12M bid sent to CSKA Moscow. Lazio hitman Mauro Zarate remains a possibility too.
