Juventus Will Revisit Dimitar Berbatov Option

Thursday, 28th July, 2011

Juventus are once again considering a swoop for Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov.

The Bianconeri need desperately to add a cutting edge to their play up front before the start of the new Serie A campaign, a fact that was clearly evident when the side took on Sporting Lisbon in the World Football Challenge last weekend.

But despite being linked with Villarreal forward Giuseppe Rossi and lately Roma striker Mirko Vucinic, Juventus have yet to snare a big-name hitman.

This has led the Old Lady, according to Tuttosport, to once again consider making a bid for Berbatov.

The Bulgarian has publicly stated his desire to remain at Old Trafford and fight for his place, with the former Tottenham Hotspur man keen to make up for the humiliation of not even managing a place on the bench in last season’s Champions League final.

However, United would sell the 30-year-old for the right price, a fact of which Juventus are well aware.

The sticking point comes over wages, with Berbatov well rewarded for his efforts in Manchester, and at a level Juventus may struggle to match.
