Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala are set to turn their attention to Barcelona’s Dani Alves after completing the capture of Samuel Eto’o, according to reports from Spain.

The Dagestan giants have splashed the cash since the turn of the year, tempting the likes of Mbark Boussoufa, Balazs Dzsudzsak, Roberto Carlos, Diego Tardelli and Yuri Zhirkov to Russia – and Eto’o is expected to sign early next week.

But despite this spending spree, Anzhi are not finished yet and Catalan daily Sport report that the Russians have let it be known that they will move for Dani Alves before the transfer window shuts.

Anzhi are ready to offer €40M to Barcelona and a yearly salary of €15M to the Brazilian.

Despite this the 28-year-old is not expected to accept Anzhi’s offer and is keen to remain at the Camp Nou this season.

Barcelona too do not wish to do business with the Russian Premier League side, although a €40M offer for the former Sevilla man is tempting.
