Craig Bellamy has signed for Liverpool on a free transfer from Manchester City on a two-year contract.

Reds boss Kenny Dalglish was desperate to bring in another striker having agreed to sell French forward David N’Gog to Bolton Wanderers.

The path for Bellamy though did not run smoothly, with City at first reluctant to allow the Welshman to join a Premier League rival.

But the 32-year-old was prepared to kick his heels at Eastlands this season if he was not allowed to head to Anfield.

And Bellamy has landed at Liverpool, a club he previously played for between 2006 and 2007 under Rafael Benitez.

The striker was sold to West Ham by the Reds for £7.5M.
