Sources in Italy have indicated that Tottenham Hotspur are ready to offer Alessandro Del Piero a Premier League swansong.

Del Piero is set to leave Juventus at the end of the season after an illustrious career with the Bianconeri, which began with when he signed from Padova in 1993.

The forward has been at the centre of all that has been good about Juventus for almost the past two decades and it is with great sadness that he will bring down the curtain on that journey at the end of the current campaign.

But despite being 36 years old, Del Piero is not ready to call time on his playing career and is on the lookout for a new challenge, one which befits his ability and status within the game.

And that could be provided by English Premier League giants Spurs.

The talk in Italy is that the White Hart Lane outfit are prepared to offer Del Piero the opportunity to end his career in England.

The legendary forward is still considered capable of playing at the highest level and Spurs are thought to believe signing him would come with very little risk attached.

For Del Piero himself, the chance to experience the Premier League and also enjoy a swansong at one of England’s biggest clubs may well be too good to turn down.

Spurs will face opposition for his signature however, with AC Milan also said to be pondering a move for the veteran.
