Tottenham Hotspur are tracking a third Barcelona youngster.

The English giants have been monitoring Barcelona starlets Marc Bartra and Martin Montoya, but now another player has entered their orbit.

And the youngster in question is Carles Planas, a young left back who turns out for Barcelona’s B team in the Spanish second division.

Spurs are very much alive to the talent within Barcelona’s second side and, given the strength of the Catalans’ senior starting eleven, failure to break through at a tender age is no reflection on the natural talent of the B-team players.

Planas has progressed through Spain’s youth ranks, representing the country at Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 levels.

The 20-year-old has also become a fixture for Barcelona’s B side and is tipped for involvement with Josep Guardiola’s first team in the future.

Tottenham are keen on the defender, in addition to his team-mates Bartra and Montoya, though snatching the trio from the Camp Nou could prove difficult.

Nevertheless, for Barcelona B’s emerging talents, the chance to play at White Hart Lane in the English Premier League and fast track their development would be an attractive one indeed.
