Juventus are aiming to blow Liverpool’s interest in Bologna midfielder Gaston Ramirez out of the water by paying his estimated €15M asking price.

Liverpool have been tracking the Uruguayan for most of the year and have been weighing up a January bid.

Bologna, well aware of interest from the Reds and several other clubs, recently signed Ramirez to a new contract, but this was mainly in an attempt to secure a higher price for the player when he is eventually sold.

Indeed, the Rossoblu are realistic enough to appreciate that holding onto Ramirez long term is almost impossible given the impression he has made on Serie A, a fact confirmed by his agent.

"I know they really like him in England and the player is in high demand in Italy, especially from Juventus, who were linked in the last transfer window and now want him again", said Ramirez’ representative Vincenzo D’Ippolito.

"The player’s price is estimated at €15M.

"If a good offer comes, he will definitely leave."

Liverpool may then have to firm up their interest in Ramirez and put cold hard cash on the table to avoid losing the talented midfield schemer to Juventus.
