Reigning Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund are believed to be eyeing Lyon left back Aly Cissokho.
Jurgen Klopp’s men suffered disappointment in the Champions League, finishing bottom of their group, but in the Bundesliga are still fighting to defend their crown.
And the Ruhr giants are looking closely at additions in the January transfer window.
Cissokho would be available from Lyon for the right price as Les Gones seek to address a small financial deficit.
Lyon coach Remi Garde is understood to believe the loss of Cissokho can be absorbed and the player was keen to quit the Stade Gerland over the summer.
Yet despite interest from English Premier League duo Liverpool and Newcastle United, the former FC Porto man remained.
An offer from Dortmund therefore would be taken very seriously by Lyon and Cissokho.
