Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic is attracting attention ahead of the January transfer window, with Liverpool and Fenerbahce believed to hold an interest.

Jelavic was the subject of a number of bids over the summer, but Rangers stood firm and the 26-year-old remained at Ibrox.

However, the Scottish side’s parlous financial position makes a big money transfer possible, especially with former fan favourite Kris Boyd a free agent – the Scot recently terminated his contract with Turkish outfit Eskisehirspor due to a dispute over unpaid wages – and able to replace the Croatian.

Jelavic, who has so far bagged 14 goals this season, is thought to be conscience of the fact that a move to a bigger league would aid his chances of booking a starting spot in the Croatia side at Euro 2012.

Premier League giants Liverpool, who have struggled to score goals in the current league campaign, managing just 20 in 17 games, are mooted to be monitoring developments, while Championship club Leicester City also rate Jelavic and have money to spend.

There is interest from Turkey too, with Istanbul giants Fenerbahce ready to revive their summer swoop for the Croatian.

Jelavic would undoubtedly be tempted by a move to either the Premier League or Super Lig, but Rangers will have the final say over his destination.
