Lazio are believed to be preparing a €15M bid for Sporting Lisbon striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel.

The Dutchman, who has been sensational with the Lisbon giants since landing in Portugal last summer, has been heavily linked with English powerhouses Manchester United and Liverpool.

Indeed, the pair are understood to have had the former FC Utrecht goal-getter watched and Van Wolfswinkel’s €22M buy-out clause is well within reach for both English sides.

But Lazio are also fans of the Holland star and believe that by moving quickly in the current transfer window a march may be stolen on both Manchester United and Liverpool.

The English duo are thought to be waiting for the summer transfer window to make their move, while Lazio feel a €15M offer in the current window may turn Sporting’s heads.

Van Wolfswinkel only cost the Portuguese side €5.4M due to concerns over his consistency. He has since shrugged those off and now Sporting could realise a quick profit.
