Bayern Munich are believed to be considering a swoop for Real Madrid defender Pepe.

Los Blancos have seen the Portuguese defender at the centre of much controversy, the latest being a stamp on Lionel Messi’s hand during the first leg of the Copa del Rey tie between Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Pepe was roundly slammed by the Spanish press and soon issued an apology to the Argentine.

However, his future at the Bernabeu is still in doubt given the overwhelming media barrage he received, along with claims of disgracing the club.

Sources in Spain have claimed that Bayern Munich are now exploring ending Pepe’s Real Madrid spell.

The player himself may be open to a change of scenery after suffering a torrent of abuse this week when Barcelona put Real Madrid out of the cup in the second leg at the Camp Nou.
