Highly-rated Swedish goalkeeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt is flying to England today to hold talks with Liverpool over a potential switch to Anfield.
The 22-year-old IF Brommapojkarna shot-stopper has been tipped for big things and his talent has long been known about by the Reds, with the player’s agent Oliver Cabrera revealing that Liverpool believe Nordfeldt to be the biggest goalkeeping talent in Swedish football at present.
And the Swede is excited by the prospect of holding talks at Anfield.
"That’s right, it’s really exciting", said Nordfeldt to Fotbolldirekt.se, confirming Liverpool’s approach.
"I fly to Liverpool with my agent on Monday.
"Of course, it feels good, but I wouldn’t just leave. It’s about staying cool and seeing what they want to offer me."
Nordfeldt’s agent also chipped in to confirm that Liverpool are deadly serious about wanting to snap up the 22-year-old.
"The interest is concrete, absolutely", said Cabrera.
"They have followed him for two years and have always kept in touch.
"As I understand, things are changing on the goalkeeping side of the club and he is primarily intended for the summer and next season."
And the agent explained just how impressed Kenny Dalglish’s men have been with his client.
"They see him as possibly the greatest Swedish goalkeeping talent, but he can still get even better by improving some aspects of his game and with that, there’s every chance of him being a top goalkeeper."
Liverpool however could face some competition for Nordfeldt, with Cabrera adding that he expects one of the biggest clubs in Portugal to also make an approach for the shot-stopper.
