Anzhi Makhachkala Still Lurking for Carlos Tevez

Tuesday, 31st January, 2012

Anzhi Makhachkala are still eyeing up a sensational late move for Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.

Roberto Carlos’ team have had representatives in London today, with Arsenal midfielder Andrei Arshavin and Manchester City duo Carlos Tevez and Kolo Toure on their shopping list.

A move for Arshavin appears unlikely at present though, while Toure is wanted on an initial loan.

But it is a deal for Tevez which would send shockwaves around the football world.

Anzhi Makhachkala, unlike Tevez’ other suitors, are willing to complete a permanent transfer, rather than taking the 27-year-old on loan first.

The wealthy Russian Premier League side are dreaming of pairing Tevez up with Samuel Eto’o and money is no object.

Tevez himself may well scupper the move though as it is unclear whether he is willing to move to Russia.

With no other escape routes this late in the day however, it is a case of take it or stay in limbo at Eastlands.
