Everton will not be able to snap up striker Guillaume Hoarau from Paris Saint-Germain after the French giants opted not to let the 27-year-old leave.

Toffees boss David Moyes was keen on Hoarau and wanted the Frenchman on loan until the end of the season.

And while PSG admit that they have received an approach for Hoarau – and his fellow striker Kevin Gameiro – the club’s sporting director Leonardo has insisted no one will be leaving the Parc des Princes.

"We studied the possibility of bringing in a striker, but this did not happen. It’s not the end of the world, after all, we played for the first part of the season with just two strikers as Guillaume Hoarau was injured", said the Brazilian.

"Until the end of the season, we can count on Gameiro and Hoarau, who are two international strikers.

"We had offers for them, but no player will leave.

"The coach [Carlo Ancelotti] is very happy with the current squad. The team is very competitive."
