Harry Redknapp Confirms Spurs Tried for Milos Krasic and Failure Has Steven Pienaar Everton Knock On

Tuesday, 31st January, 2012

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed that he has failed to bring Milos Krasic to White Hart Lane from Juventus.

Redknapp explained after Spurs’ 3-1 win over Wigan Athletic in the Premier League this evening that he had lined up a loan swoop for the Serbian winger.

But Krasic went cold on a temporary move and wanted to leave the Bianconeri only on a permanent basis.

And despite Redknapp having been interested in the former CSKA Moscow man last summer – at that time in a permanent basis – doing a transfer deal now would be too expensive.

That appears to have had the knock on effect of scuppering Everton’s loan swoop for Spurs midfielder Steven Pienaar.

Redknapp was willing to allow Pienaar to move to his former club, but a failure to sign Krasic, combined with a number of injury concerns, seems to have ruled out that possibility.

Meanwhile, sources in Russia have confirmed that Lokomotiv Moscow look to have agreed a fee with Tottenham for Roman Pavlyuchenko – Redknapp admitted to knowing that the 30-year-old could return home.
