Russian giants Rubin Kazan are interested in Manchester City’s Swedish forward John Guidetti, according to Stockholm-based daily Aftonbladet.

Guidetti is currently on a season-long loan at Dutch side Feyenoord, where he has been in sensational form, and the 19-year-old made his international debut for Sweden in the country’s 3-1 midweek victory over Croatia.

Established star Zlatan Ibrahimovic instantly hailed Guidetti, proclaiming the former Brommapojkarna forward as someone who is set to be Sweden’s surprise package in the summer at Euro 2012.

Guidetti’s talent has been well signposted, with Rubin Kazan taking note and already planning the shape of their squad for next season, when the Russian league switches to a traditional autumn-spring calendar.

The forward has bagged 18 goals in just 16 Eredivisie games in the current campaign, rapidly becoming one of Feyenoord coach Ronald Koeman’s key performers.

What Guidetti’s future at Eastlands might be once his loan spell finishes remains unclear, with Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini having a glittering array of top class strikers to choose from.

This has encouraged Rubin Kazan, who are set to sound out the Citizens over the possibility of acquiring Guidetti.

The 2008 and 2009 Russian Premier League champions want to bolster their strike force as Obafemi Martins and Nelson Valdez have struggled to give the Tartars the cutting edge desired by long serving coach Kurban Berdyev.
