Giovani dos Santos has had an unrealistic price tag placed on his head by Tottenham Hotspur, believes the player’s representative Vicente Montes.

Dos Santos has been desperate to leave White Hart Lane for the last seven months and has not seen his playing time increase this season as he hoped.

Moves to Spain, where he began his career with Barcelona, were on the agenda both in last summer’s transfer window and as recently as January – but Spurs wanted too high a price for the 22-year-old according to Montes.

"Tottenham were asking for £10M", said Montes to Milenio.

"We are talking about €12M.

"This is totally disproportionate."

Dos Santos is hoping to end his Spurs nightmare in the summer and, with only one year set to run on his contract at White Hart Lane by that time, would appear to be in a strong position to force a move.
